COL BKB: California 76, UCLA 69 (OT)
Ayinde Ubaka scored eight of his 29 points in overtime Thursday as California stunned third-ranked UCLA, 76-69, in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 Tournament.
Cal lost control of the contest by being outscored, 36-24, in the second half after building a surprising 37-25 halftime advantage.
Ryan Anderson had 18 points and eight rebounds; and Eric Vierneisel scored 10 points for the eighth-seeded Golden Bears (16-16), who beat Oregon State, 70-51, in Wednesday's first round.
Darren Collison led UCLA with 20 points, four rebounds, and six assists.
Josh Shipp had 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists; and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute had 13 points and six rebounds for the top-seeded Bruins (26-5), who dropped their second straight game after losing their regular season finale to Washington, 61-51, last Saturday.
Pac-10 Player of the Year Aaron Afflalo was held to just three points.
